A sigh escapes my lips as I plop down at my desk. What sick person puts math as your first class of the day? I can't wait for English class. That's the first of two classes where I can be more like myself than all my other classes.

"Okay guys. We've got some theorems and postulates to copy down today, so get out your binders." The Geometry teacher, Mr. Tops says with a smile, while all the students groan and reach under their desks. I bend down carefully so my earbud doesn't fall out; which would get me caught with my ipod.

"Frank, hand it over." Too late. Mr. Tops is glaring down at me. I look back up at him and grin sheepishly.

"Come on Frank, you know the rules. You'll get it back at the end of class." Groaning, I hand over my precious ipod. How can I get through class without my music?

As I predicted, class dragged on for what seemed like days to me. The bell was music to my ears at this point. I sprang up and ran over to Mr. Tops' desk to recieve my soul back. He turns to me slowly in his chair.

"Frank, you're a good kid. I'd hate to catch you with this again." Mr. Tops drops my ipod into my hands and I rush out the door with my stuff, shouting my thanks over my shoulder.

Spanish was hell, Science was hell, Gym class was worse than hell. Flag Football was SO not the game for me. Stupid Trenton knocked me over and made me land on my foot weird...

FINALLY! English class!!! As usual, I'm the first one here, so I look at the chalk board. Looks like today we're acting out the final scene for Romeo and Juliet.

"Hey, Frankie!" A familiar voice rattles though the room, making me smile like an idiot.

"Hi Gerard. You gonna read lines today? It's the last scene." My best friend sets his books down on his desk and walks up to the chalkboard.

"Yup, might as well. You know how much I love acting, Frank." Gerard picks up a piece of chalk and writes his name next to Romeo, staying up there for a while longer to write something else really small. The bell sounds and Ms. Laur calls for quiet and everyone to their seats.

"Alright, everyone open your books to page 875. We're on the last scene." Everyone turns to the proper page and awaits further instructions. Mr. Laur looks at the clock.

"Hmmm...Since lunch is in ten minutes, we'll act out the play when you guys get back from your lunch break. In the meantime, finish up your study guides if you haven't already." Gerard and I exchange glances. We always work with eachother so the work gets done faster. We had already finished our study guides yesterday. Gerard quickly scribbles something down on a piece of scratch paper and hands it over to me.

'Hey, what's for lunch?' it read. I looked over at him and shrugged. He sighed and I quickly scribbled something down on the paper in response.

'At least we get a lunch break partway throught the class. It's one of my favorite classes, but it's just so long! And didn't you pack a lunch today??' Gerard and I spend our first ten minutes of class passing notes to eachother.

*Briiinnnnggg!*

The lunch bell rings. Gerard grabs my arm and pulls me down the hallway.

"C'mon! I got permission for the sweetest spot to eat for lunch!" I giggle as I'm dragged down another hallway.

"Wait, Gee! Don't we need food for lunch?" I ask, laughing as he stops.

"...Oh yeah." We sprint back up the hallway and stop at the locker we share. Everyone knows it's ours not only from what kind of posters cover it, but by the sheer number of them. If all the lockers were different colors, I'm sure the color of ours would be forgotten pretty quickly.

Gerard reaches up to the op compartment for his lunch with ease. I stand up on my tip-toes and barely pull my sack down from the compartment below it. As soon as the locker's closed, we're running down the hallway again.

"C'mon, c'mon! It's a perfect day for it, too!" Gee shouts as we're sprinting down the hallway.

"You got the courtyard?! No way! Teachers can't even get the courtyard!!!" I shout back, grinning. Gerard grins back when we stop outside the door to the courtyard. He opens the door for me to go outside first.

"After you, Frankie~" Gerard says with a silly accent. I giggle and place my lunch sack on top of the picnic table on the patio. My best friend quickly follows, sitting down and dumping the contents of his lunch onto the table. I do the same.

"Fluffer-Nutter sandwich, apple, Doritos, and a Sobe Life Water. What'cha got in your lunch, Gee?" Gerard looks up from examining his own meal.

"Cold pizza, carrot sticks, Salt-and-Pepper kettle chips and Mountain Dew. In a trading mood, Frankie; or you wanna share?" I quickly compare my lunch to Gerard's, cancelling out the pizza because of the pepperoni and sausage.

"Let's pool it, like we did back in fifth grade." My response earns a smile from Gerard as we start on our lunch.

~~~X-O-X~~~
We finished our food before lunch was over, so we just talked like we normally did. Somehow the conversation switched to Romeo and Juliet in English class.
"I just don't see why people sign up for parts to act out, and then don't read the lines with enthusiasm!" Gerard remarks, tossing a pebble into a patch of grass off to his left.
"I don't know...I mean, I can understand how in that one scene Robbie really didn't want to kiss Delia, but at least speak like you mean it! He sounded like a robot, for pete's sake!" This earns a giggle from Gerard, which makes me smile. He continues on with the conversation.
"Yeah, especially if you have the lead. That's why I signed up for Romeo in this scene. We don't want a monotone Romeo in the most important scene, do we?" It's my turn to giggle, but I can't help but be jealous of whoever gets Juliet today. Yeah, I'm kind of in love with my best friend, but I don't want to ruin our friendship by saying anything. Gerard notices I'm lost in thought though, because I feel him nudge my shoulder a few times.
"Dude, you okay? You kinda spaced out on me there..." He lets out a soft chuckle.
"Oh, uh...yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." My fingers fiddle with the strings on my Misfits hoodie and I can see Gerard bite his lip out of the corner of my eye.
"Hey, Frankie? I uh...I gotta tell you something. Something important. But can you promise not to laugh at me? Or freak out?" At those last two questions he holds out his left pinkie-finger. We pinkie-promised all the time since kindergarten, and we still sometimes do. I hook his pinkie with my own and hope with all my might that he hasn't gotten a girlfriend or something.
"Okay...I have no clue how to say this, and I don't know how you'll react, but..." His sentence trails off as he seems to be thinking of what to say.
"C...Can I show you instead?" I nod, completely unaware of whathe was going to do next.
Gerard leans his face in closer to mine, and I feel my heart begin to race. Our faces are less than an inch apart when Gerard whispers something.
"Frankie...I have to tell you...that I think of you as more than a friend..." And with that our lips were conected. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting that. For some reason I expected a slap in the face. No clue as to why; I just did.
As we both relax into the kiss, our lips find perfect rhythm and my hands find the back of Gerard's head, my fingers knotting themselves in his soft black hair. I'm in heaven for a few minute or so before we have to pull away for air.
"Gee...I think of you as more than a friend too." I manage to utter. Gerard grins and we go for another, more passionate kiss. It's the bell that separates us this time and we reluctantly remove ourselves from eachother, but we walk back to English class hand in hand, smiling like idiots.
~~~X-O-X~~~

Gerard and I sit back down in our seats, Gerard appearing more smiley than when we left the courtyard. I giggle and lean over to whisper to him.

"There's got to be more that's making you smile. What is it~?" I playfully poke Gerard's side and he giggles, shushing me.

"Hush. You'll find out soon enough~" The bell rings and Ms. Laur walks to the front of the class, observing the board.

"Alright, class. Everyone open your books back up and actors, grab your books and take your places. And...it looks like we've got a male Juliet. Just like they did back in Shakespeare's time!" My entire body locks. I glance over at Gerard and he stands up grinning, and offers me a hand.

"Come on, Juliet~ You don't have that many lines to worry about." He smiles and I'm sure I blush beet-red as I stand up with him. We walk over to a bunch of desks pushed together enough so that two people could lay on them.

"Alrighty then, 'Juliet', why don't you lay down on your bier and pretend to be in a coma until your cue to wake up, okay?" Ms. Laur gestured to my 'funeral bed'. I shuffle over and climb up onto it, resting my hands over my chest and close my eyes, pretending to be in Juliet's false-death state.

"Okay, so Gerard. You are Romeo and you have come to say your final goodbyes to Jul--  Frank. You don't know that sh-- he isn't really dead, but you commit suicide because you think he's dead. Then, Ju-- Frank wakes up to find you dead and kills himself too." Ms. Laur explains. I'm really freaking nervous right now. not only do I get stage fright easily, but in the script Juliet has to kiss Romeo's corpse in hope that he still has poison on his lips.

"Alright, let's start off with when Romeo enters Capulet tomb." The class begins to act out the scene, and if I weren't laying down, I'd probably collapse. The entire scene is about my role! Why did Gerard sign me up for this?

"Juliet rises." Ms. Laur, acting as the narrator, says in a monotone. That's my cue to sit up and read my line.

"Ohhh...Where? Where is my lord? Where is my Romeo?" This feels really weird, I've never acted before. Not to mention as a girl! I lean over the desks to find an 'acting-dead' Gerard. Y'know, I think I'll shock the class a little today...

"No! My Romeo! Could'st he be truly dead? Oh, how could'st thou take thy own life with poison, but none for me to do away with mine own self? Perhaps a drop of the potion still lingers on his lips..." I lean down so my face hovers just above Gerard's. I don't think anyone in the class is expecting my next move.

I let our lips meet, and I can tell Gerard's trying to stay in dead-character and not kiss me back. Multiple gasps are heard around the whole classroom.

I reluctantly pull away from my best friend and turn to read my next line, but I'm yanked back down into another kiss. And we just lay there, the two of us kissing, completely ignoring the sounds of disgust the whole class is making and Ms. Laur's attempts to tell us to separate while at the same time trying to settle the class down.

When we finally do part, Ms. Laur looks at us with shock spread across her face.

"Mr. Way, coming back to life and kissing your...'Juliet' is not in the script." Gerard sits up and holds me in his lap, smiling.

"I know." is all he says before stealing another kiss from my lips.
I wrote this back when we were studying Romeo and Juliet in English class. And my teacher had us act out the parts. :D

I would always be the first to sign up for parts, and I was always a guy. :XD: I didn't like being a girl in old plays, they're just so...helpless. :/

But in case you ask, no. I didn't kiss anyone in any of my scenes. :XD:

And Frank's schedule is the same as mine. I have Geometry first thing in the morning, followed by all the other classes. T-T It stinks. but English is my favorite class too. :) *Mini-Edit* That was my freshman-year schedule. I have yet to recieve my schedule for this coming school year. */Mini-Edit*

I hope you like it! I only own the story! :D
